Hey there!

I'm Autumn Gray!

I'm a wedding and portrait photographer (maybe you guessed that) but also:

A wife to an amazing man! My husband and I have been married for a little over 10 years now.  We got married at a young age and though we know the reality of ups and downs being married to him has been the fairytale I always dreamed of! I believe this is why I love weddings so much because I really believe in love not between two perfect people but between two real people.  When I take photos at weddings, engagements, or anniversary sessions my hope is that those images will be treasured by them for years but also by their family after they are gone and when people see the image they feel love. To quote Pam from The Office: "When you're a kid, you assume your parents are soulmates. My kids are gonna be right about that."

A mom to my children. There is only one other job that captures my soul like photography and that's being a mom to my kiddos. My kids keep me on my toes daily they inspire me with their out-of-the-box thinking and they make me want to be better. For me raising children is not like walking the path for them or dragging them along in my direction, it's walking beside them on their path and helping them feel safe if they get lost. I take a similar approach with my photography.  My goal is not to guide my clients through their important days but to capture their moments as they happen and if they need direction I strive to be a safe place to help.

A traveler of places within a 30-hour drive that is. My family and I love taking trips every year to Texas and Colorado and in the last few years have spent holidays in other states for the joy of teaching our kids how wonderful and diverse the world is!

A homebody! I love getting out and I love coming back to my home.  I'm a Colorado native raised in the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains.  When I was young, I couldn't see the joy in trading the mountains for farmer's fields, but as I've grown and my family has grown, I've come to take pride in the feeling of a small-town community. I dabble in home decor but less on a professional level as a Pinterest-inspired thrift shop collector level. Being home feels important to me.  It's where I can cook for my family and make a happy place for us. I do all of my editing at home because even if I'm not having a conversation it still feels right just to be in the same room as the people I love.

Someone who wants to work with you!  Here's the cheesy part where I get to tell you I love my job! Every photographer you meet is going to tell you they love photography and it's true for me too.  What makes me unique is my vision for storytelling.  I often joke I was born with a camera in my hand! At a young age, I got a camera and very quickly became interested in how this device could save a moment that will never exist again. While over the years I have pointed my lens in different directions shooting flowers, animals, and everything else the thing that would capture my camera and heart was when I knew I had captured love.

I don't want to meet someone and tell them "this is how I'm gonna shoot you and you're gonna like it."  I want to meet someone and learn about them. I want to learn how they met and how they want to be captured and then present them with an image of themselves they didn't know was possible.

I never stop seeking out knowledge, in college I did journalism and film photography and to this day I carve out times in my week just to focus on online photography education and attend workshops.  By doing this I have started to mold a body of work and a business relationship with others I am very proud of.

So now I wanna hear about you!
